Nara » Nara city, Tenri, Horyuji
This amusement park is located on top of Mt. Ikoma, which straddles Nara and Osaka Prefectures at an elevation of 642 meters. It is cool in summer and has more than 30 amusement facilities, including a pet pet petting zoo where visitors can interact with dogs, cats, and other small animals, and a flying carpet with a large spinning wheel.
Opened in 1929, the amusement park has Japan’s oldest large-scale playground equipment, the “flying tower” (30 meters high), which offers a panoramic view of the Osaka Plain, the Nara Basin, and the Yamashiro Basin.
Recommended is the roller coaster that winds along the mountainside, which, due to the height of the mountains, offers more thrills than other amusement parks.
For families with small children, “character shows” and “hero shows” are held on holidays, and there are many attractions for kids to enjoy.
During the summer, the park is open for nighttime play, and visitors can enjoy the night view overlooking Osaka. You can also enjoy the view of the Osaka Plain from the terrace of the Ikoma View Restaurant.
